About us
Mowla Academy was founded by Imrul Hassan to bring quality English education to the rural Bangladeshi communities that shaped him.
Founder
Imrul Hassan is a New York City real estate broker who grew up in Brooklyn after immigrating from Bangladesh. His story began in a small rural village in Bangladesh, where he was born in a modest tin house. Those humble beginnings would eventually lead him to build a successful career in New York while never losing sight of where he came from.
Growing up in Brooklyn shaped Imrul's work ethic, ambition, and appreciation for the opportunities that education and hard work can create. Today, he helps people navigate one of life's most important milestones as a real estate broker, connecting individuals and families with places they can call home.
Despite building his life in New York, Imrul has maintained a deep connection to Bangladesh. For more than a decade, he has returned regularly to the village where he was born, seeking meaningful ways to give back to the community that helped shape him.
Through these visits, he recognized that one of the greatest barriers facing rural communities was access to quality education, particularly English language instruction. Believing that English proficiency can unlock opportunities in an increasingly global economy, he founded English learning centers in rural Bangladesh to help children gain skills that can expand their educational and professional futures.
What began as a small initiative has grown into a broader mission focused on creating opportunities for underserved communities. Through these schools, students gain access to teachers, educational resources, technology, and a supportive learning environment designed to build confidence and open doors.
Whether helping clients achieve their real estate goals in New York or working to expand educational opportunities in Bangladesh, Imrul is driven by the belief that where someone starts in life should never determine how far they can go.
